What is Software Testing Guide Book (STGB)?
STGB - Software Testing Guide Book is an Open Source Project for documenting the Science of Software Testing for researching, understanding and standardizing software testing methods. This guide book would help create awareness among software testers and provides a base for people to understand what Software Testing is all about and make advancements in the field. This guide book is a long term project. We would be making interim releases so as that we can keep getting your valuable feedback. The guide book is addressed in Three Parts for its First Release: Part I - Fundamentals of Software Testing This first volume would address the fundamentals of Software Testing and their practical applications in real life. Part II - Software Testing for various Architectures This second volume would address testing applications under various architecture's like Client/Server, Web, Mobile, Pocket PC and Embedded Systems. Part III - Platform Specific Testing This third volume would concentrate on testing C++ and Java Applications. The test strategies would be aimed at white box testing. Release and Schedule This guide book is a long term project and we will be releasing the three volumes in different stages. The first volume of the STGB is released on 8 May 2004. The second volume of the book is under progress. We shall update the release date very soon. The thrid volume will be released after the second volume.
